A Reminder

My machine is back in working order. Dr Carl fixed him on Saturday, while I waited.

A BIG huge thanks to Dr Carl, the CSI of sewing machines.

He asked me when was the last time I oiled it? My face must have said it all. Never was my response. Your suppose to oil this machine every 8 sewing hours. oops!

My hubby figured , I am only 500 hours behind. Yikes! Thanks to him! I brush it out and change the needle on a regular basis. Oh well, a lesson learned.

I think, I will oil all machines on Sunday and Wednesday from now on. I have missed the auto thread cutter, needle down position, and other handy features.

My serger has also been oil deprived. Yikes! Is that why they were louder than I remember? Maybe? **giggle**

I had better go do that now.

90 Days from Today...

It is Christmas!

Now, I am in high gear. Time is ticking. The pressure is on.

Family Plans

I know what I am planning but, I can't say. (they read my blog) I can say if they behave they may get something from my little sewing/quilting corner. **giggle**




All of these plans happen by GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT!!!! Those are 3 words that I do NOT care for. But, must live and breathe by. Otherwise I fail and that is not an option...

Has it been a week ...since I have posted?

I am naughty... a very bad girl.

My serger and I have came to an understanding. Anyone who owns one, knows what I am trying to say. There not like a sewing machine. They are there own breed. This serger is 12 years old.

I wanted to do a rolled hem. A simple task. uhh no! I had to get out the book. Talk to it nicely..(not really) finally.... I get what I desire. : ) Yippee!

A very nice edge finish.

All of my doggies are sleeping. I will take a picture later today, of them modeling these doggy hankies.

I do have a house guest. My Dad is in the hospital. ( He will be fine.) So, while he recovers ..."Silly Gilly" is staying with us. He is a very polite house guest. Making himself at home. Isn't he too Cute!!

I will try to get a picture of Silly Gilly and Miss Elly together. With a little luck maybe Mitzie too! I may be pushing my luck but, there is always cut and paste. **giggle**

A Day of Sharing

Tomorrow is my Dads Birthday! So, Hubby and I thought we would cook him a nice dinner. My Parents have never seen my favorite movie. So, after we eat, we will grab the tissues and watch.

A very fitting movie..in my opinion, after what has gone on the last few days.

I must tape the Yankee game. I am watching my favorite player closely. Will he brake the record? I hope so. A true fan must own this. I talk to him and he nods his little head at me. **LOL**

The Wedding Gown

Here is my Mom. It was September 11 ,1965. Her gown was made of Duchess Satin.

The part I love about her gown was the detachable train. (Ready for dancing.) Here she is with my Dad.

My Favorite picture. I asked my parents to redo this picture ..now. Yikes, that was a fun conversation. I opened a can of worms. All in fun of course.

Moms gown is now a Christening Gown, Bib, and bonnet. I will show it later. Just as soon as ..I find it. *Grrr*

Many thanks to my mother in law, Carol for saving the day. Last week my sewing machine broke. This week my coffee pot. She kindly gave me an extra... she had. Tim Hortons is very close by, but I would rather spend my money on (fabric, patterns ....Ect) I don't have a problem, do I ?

Sorting Fabric- Its not good for someone with a fabric addiction, to have worked for a major retail chain. Nope, nadda , not at all.

After speaking with other Basset owners, we went out and bought Miss Elly a harness. Purple ...because its the color of royality. She is the Queen in this house. I am the Godess... she is the Queen! This is our deal. LOL : 0)

• Miss Elly has an 8:15 am appointment for a pedicure. (Some of her nails are black and hard to see. I am afraid to cut them myself.) Chicken!!! bawk ..bawk




• Leave by 9:30 to make it to Buffalo. According to Map quest, its about an 82 minute drive. I am happy that Miss Elly is a good passenger. She just curls up in the backseat and takes a nap.

Mitzie, pictured above NOT a good passenger. Jumps back and forth, whines, and just makes me crazy. I love her dearly but, she is a work in progress. She is a mix (Chocolate lab, American husky, and ????)

Let me show you how TALL... I really am:

Yup, that's right a 34.5 inseam. Never, do I hem for myself. After sorting my drawers, I have 6 pairs of jeans like this. I am going to use the legs for denim rag quilts. The top part of the jeans for purses /totes. I think my girls, will like them.

This controls All of the machines upper thread tension. I had a fine, knotty, and ugly mess under the throat plate. Yuck!!!

Not bad, but not the same!! I should be thankful I have a backup.. huh?

Today , I need to update my resume. (yuck again) Two jobs have peeked my interest.

What Miss Elly does after waking me up at 3am. Ya gotta love her! *giggle*
