Got my mojo back

I woke as if someone was shaking me from the inside. I sat straight up. I was frightened. That was not the way to start my day. It was 3am. Here I am. Catching up on some Blog reading.

My Mojo has returned. No quilting = cranky mood.

Today, I am going to work on the Yellow Brick Road Quilt. Using fall fabrics and colors.

Off to the sewing room now. Have a great day everyone!!

A Test Block

Here is a test block for a swap. It is too big. If I square it up, I will lob off the points. Honestly, I am too lazy to rip it apart. : )

Maybe, I will put a border on it and practice free motion quilting. Yup, that sounds better!

Miss Elly and her Mom.

Hounds in the Parade!

Prince Potsie! We own him now. I can firmly say " no more dogs!"Congrats to him and my daughter!

They got to ride in the Parade.

Happy June

I have been busy in the sewing room. Above you can see two Blackford Beauty blocks. I have four done and eight to go. I have also mailed out two swaps this past week.

Take a look at the nine bark. Did I miss my favorite stage when they look like pearls? I think so. The garden is all tilled and ready for planting. I must get back to the sewing room. The Yankees and PM Style are on tonight.

Meet our houseguest

This is Potsie. He is a 1 year old basset. We are his foster family until a forever home can be found for him. We are trying out fostering for ABC (All Bassets Cherished) .You can read all about them here.

Not much sewing time this week. Alot of training, belly rubs, and slobbery kisses at my house.

Miss Elly takes it all in stride.

What happens when you grow up with your kids?

You become a very young Grandma! Meet Camden J. Isn't he cute? My daughter let me in the room when he was born. It wasn't my 45 minute labor but, she recieved something I didn't DRUGS.

I now hear myself saying " I wish they had that when my children were little."

Yes Miss Elly, your still my baby!

Happy Pink Saturday

This ring was bought for me by my Hubby. It is simulated Kunzite. This ring is part of the Jacqueline Kennedy Collection. The original was bought by Jack in 1963 and given to Jackie after his death. I wanted it because of its bold statement. My ring size is a 9 if that helps you gauge how bold it really is. Every girl needs a right hand ring that catches attention, I think. **giggle**

Last night we went to dinner in Geneva, NY. (If you watched Extreme Makeover, Home Addition last week this town may sound familiar.) My sister met us at a place called Pinky's Bar and Restaurant. We went there to try their Haddock Parm. Basically it's a deep fried piece of haddock smothered with a marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Even hubby (the meat and potato man) thought it was tasty!

Miss Elly wishes you a Happy Pink Saturday!

UFO Decisions

This is the UFO I pulled out yesterday. I am thinking, these blocks could use a narrow border between them. (maybe, that's why it ended up a UFO)
I walked away yesterday, hoping when I walked back in, I could make a decision. No, I couldn't. The weather seemed to be a deterrent. It was 70 degrees here in western NY. This will not last long. Miss Elly, Mitzie and I went out and played ball. Some things do interrupt my quilting plans.**giggle**
What color do you think would look best?

Hello November!

Hubby says I have 2 days to remove this from the wall. I may leave it up 3 days because, I can. LOL!!!
November is a great month. The crisp air blows in. I just can't believe it's here already.
My baby girl turns 16 in 9 days. My birthday does NOT fall on Thanksgiving this year. I don't like when this happens. Cooking and dishes. I do have a dishwasher this year. I will put that on my thankful list.

Here are 3 of the 12 blocks, I am working on. I found, I have to use pins. I am not a person who uses pins often. Rule breaker!
I am thinking , I will try a scalloped border with this one. I have never done one. Can't be that hard, right?
I think, Miss Elly is exhausted! She had to greet every single person who came to the door last night.

Find Me, Bind Me

That tittle says it all.
This photo is a collection of leaves hubby and I collected last weekend. Preserved in wax paper and on its way to Florida. I hope the recipient doesn't think , I am too weird. : )

Working on these Fabulous Dog Hankies. Maybe, I will make a dent in the fabric collection?

Yes Miss Elly! You are picture perfect.

Where are the bindings for these?? Grrr!! I hope to have these done by the end of this week.

Fall in Western NY

We are taking a break from the costume parade. Lets take a road trip. Quilters can look at these pictures as a lesson in color.

Here is Canandaigua Lake. I don't think we are at the peak of color yet. Next week, maybe?

Hubby and I went for a drive. The following pictures were taken at Bristol Mountain.

********Remember This*******

I am afraid of Heights!!!!

Lets hope those cables don't snap. Yikes!!!!

Pretending not to be afraid of heights ! I have conquered another part of my Corky Personality!

Happy Columbus Day !

Dress me up Mommy

When Halloween was fun. I loved making costumes. We have Cinderella on the left and a Fifties Girl on the right. I think this was 10/31/00. I am looking for pictures from 1978 for Allyjo.

These costumes were not fun. Messy ,very messy. I think, we vacuumed up fur for a year. I still have all of these costumes. I am still searching. I will find 1978. More to come......

Faces of Fall

I love scarecrows. I am also allergic to burlap. I become a giant red hive and have trouble breathing. Over the weekend, I managed to piece together " A Harvest Welcome."

I still need to embellish, quilt, and bind. But, I will take progress in any shape or form. :0)

I chose green because it's a neutral color to me. Mother Nature uses it often. Let us not forget American dollars are that color.

I found the pattern in this magazine.

My house guest went home over the weekend. It seems weird without Silly Gilly.

Nothing taste better than a cool, crisp Pepsi on a fall day. So much for dog toys.

Miss Elly is happy, her beauty will no longer be ignored. See it even happens with dogs !

Happy Pink Saturday

Here is another member of my doll collection. She is from 1982. Cabbage Patch Kids were very popular back then. I have birth certificates but, I am not sure which one belongs to her.

Notice her rosie pink cheeks. Do you remember where the signiture is?

What was that name?

I was a teen back then. Just a mere 13. I remember recieving a cabbage patch and a boom box. Santa was good to me that year!

A touch of Fall

Here are some leaf blocks, I am working on. They are part of a fall wallhanging in progress. I hope to have together by Saturday. : )

I really need to make myself some flannel PJ pants. I would buy them but, the legs are always too short. I could buy mens but, there not girly enough for me. PJ pants are cheaper to make anyway. I had to throw out all of my pj pants out from last year. They were almost "see through." Can't answer the door with everyone knowing what color my undergarmets are. LOL!!!!

Another blogger told me these no slip rulers really do work. I used my 40% off coupon and bought this one. They do work. I am amazed.

I hope Santa brings me more. Maybe my hubby will tell Santa. I am trying to be a good girl.

This should be one of those Doublemint Gum Ads.
Silly Gilly and Miss Elly... alike yet different.

A Reminder

My machine is back in working order. Dr Carl fixed him on Saturday, while I waited.

A BIG huge thanks to Dr Carl, the CSI of sewing machines.

He asked me when was the last time I oiled it? My face must have said it all. Never was my response. Your suppose to oil this machine every 8 sewing hours. oops!

My hubby figured , I am only 500 hours behind. Yikes! Thanks to him! I brush it out and change the needle on a regular basis. Oh well, a lesson learned.

I think, I will oil all machines on Sunday and Wednesday from now on. I have missed the auto thread cutter, needle down position, and other handy features.

My serger has also been oil deprived. Yikes! Is that why they were louder than I remember? Maybe? **giggle**

I had better go do that now.

Family Foto Friday

I would call this photo :

How many dogs are on the bed?
I am sleeping like a baby. Not much bothers me.
There are 3 dogs on the bed. I think we need a king size bed. *giggle*
